Davie is home to approximately 99,000 residents and covers 35 square miles in central Broward. As a community that is composed of people from various countries, including Haiti, it was no surprise when the caring community of Davie answered the call of action to help Haiti after Hurricane Matthew left the country in a state of emergency.
The town, eager to do its part, made its fire stations donation drop-off sites so that it would be convenient for their residents to drop of items to be shipped to Haiti. Davie’s willingness to provide much needed relief to those in need represents the commitment to assist their neighbors, both near and far.
On October 13th 2016, Davie’s Fire Chief, Robert DiFerdinando, contacted Giving Hearts with Love Foundation to donate items that were collected at four different fire stations in Davie. Among the items donated were water, food, clothing, first aid supplies, hygiene products, baby items and much more.
Giving Hearts with Love Foundation thanks the City of Davie for sharing their hearts and love for the people of Haiti.
